Learning DNA

    Thanks for sharing your learning about DNA. You are right about how three of the A, C, G or T letters come together then they form a codon. The codon is like a little part of a code that tells ribosomes in the cell how to make a particular protein. Most proteins are coded by hundreds of codons each (and each codon is for one of 20 amino acids) so you can imagine how complicated proteins must be (and you have more than 20,000 different types of protein in your body!). Not surprisingly, it has taken scientists quite a while to figure some of this out, and there is still a lot left to explore.
